Alessandra Corrado (PhD) is Senior Researcher and a member of the Center for Rural Development Studies at the Department of Political and Social Sciences, University of Calabria, Italy. Her research activity revolves around development issues, international migrations and agro-food systems. Her publications and studies have focused on migrant labour in agriculture, migrations and informal economy, rural development and sustainable agro-food systems, and food sovereignty. She has carried out research in Italy, France, Mali, Ecuador and Argentina. She is co-editor of the volume Migration and Agriculture: Mobility and change in the Mediterranean area (Routledge 2016).
